KILIMANJARO TREKKING & SERENGETI LODGE SAFARI

In this tour you will climb Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of Africa on 6days scenic Machame route and 5days best safari destination that is Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater. DAY 0: Moshi 815m/670ft
Booked into your hotel in Moshi or Arusha for overnight and briefing from your guide.
DAY 1: ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

Driving Time: 1hour

Hotel: Bed and Breakfast
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your arranged hotel in Moshi town. You will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming trek and do an equipment check to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear. Gear which is missing can be rented on this day.
DAY 2: MACHAME GATE – MACHAME CAMP
Distance: 11km/7miles,
Hiking Time: 5-7hours,
Eleven: 5,380ft to 9,350ft or,
Habitat: Rain Forest.
The drive start from Moshi to Machame gate by passing through the Machame village which is located on the slope of mountain Kilimanjaro. After gate formalities and permits we start the hiking to the sense rain forest until we reach to Machame camp
DAY 3: MACHAME CAMP – SHIRA CAVE CAMP
Distance: 5km/3miles,
Hiking Time: 5-6hours,
Eleven: 9,350ft to 12,500ft or,
Habitat: Heath.
Our route continues on up through the forest until we reach the steep ascent onto the Shira Plateau, where there are rewarding views of the mountain. Looking back, you will be able to see Mt Meru rising high above Arusha town in the distance.
DAY 4: SHIRA CAVE CAMP – LAVA TOWER – BARANCO CAMP
Distance: 10km/6miles,
Hiking Time: 6-8hours,

Walking now on high moorland, the landscape changes the entire character of the trek. We traverse the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing underneath the Lava Tower and the final section of the Western Breach and finally reach camp The day has been spent at altitude (up to 4600m), but we have followed the mountaineering code of ‘walk high, sleep low’ to aid your body’s acclimatization to altitude.
DAY 5: BARANCO CAMP – KARANGA CAMP
Distance: 5km/3miles,
Hiking Time: 4-5hours,

Our day starts by descending into the start of the Great Barranco, a huge ravine. We then exit steeply, up the Great Barranco Wall, which divides us from the southeastern slopes of Kibo. It’s a climb over rock, not technical but long and tiring. Passing underneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, we head towards the Karanga valley. From here we have a steep climb up from Karanga valley to our night’s camp at Karanga camp, set at 3963m. For those feeling strong we will go for a mid-afternoon acclimatization trek up to around 4200m before descending back to camp for the night.
DAY 6: KARANGA CAMP – BARAFU CAMP
Distance: 4km/2miles,
Hiking Time: 4-5hours,
Eleven:13,106 ft to 15,331 ft
Vegetation: Alpine Desert
After a good night’s rest and breakfast, we set off on our walk to Barafu camp at 4640m. The climb will take us across desolate scree slopes with no vegetation around us at all. It’s a tough steep walk made more difficult by the altitude. On arriving at camp we eat and spend the afternoon resting as we prepare for a long night and day ahead. It is important to keep hydrated and warm. We have an early dinner and then try to get some sleep as we will be getting up at between 11pm and 12pm to start the climb to the summit.
DAY 7: BARAFU CAMP – UHURU – MWEKA CAMP
Distance: 5km/3miles and 7km/4mile
Hiking Time: 6-8 hours and 2-4 hours
Eleven: 15,331 ft to 19,341ft and 12,434 ft
Vegetation: Arctic to Heath
We start off at around midnight and walk steeply upwards to the summit glaciers. We will be climbing scree for 4 to 5 hours but gain incredible height over a short distance. The views are spectacular. We should be on the crater rim at Stella Point (5739m) as the first rays of the sun hit us. Spectacular ice cliffs within the crater surround us and the views to jagged Mawenzi peak and beyond are breathtaking. Another hour’s walking takes us to the summit, Uhuru Peak (5895m). We begin our descent by returning to Stella Point and then descending on scree slope and track back to Barafu Camp for breakfast, before finally heading down to millennium Camp for a long well-earned rest
DAY 8:MWEKA CAMP – MWEKA GATE
Distance: 12km/7miles,
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours,
Eleven:12,434 ft – 5,380 ft
Vegetation: Rain forest
A gentle trek takes us down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where we complete park formalities and receive certificates, which you can hang up with pride! We are then met by our vehicles and return to the hotel in Moshi, where you can treat yourself to a welcome shower then celebrate with cold drinks. Overnight at your arranged Hotel
DAY 9: MOSHI-ARUSHA TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK - KARATU
After breakfast you will meet your driver guide and start your journey to Tarangire National Park. Your drive will take about 2hours to reach Tarangire park with ana approximation of 109kms. This park with its endless grasslands, huge baobab trees, the perennial Tarangire River and seasonal swamps is home to the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania. Animals gather at the river and you should be able to see elephants, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, dik-diks, waterbucks, warthogs, and reedbucks all year round. Furthermore, the park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions, leopard and cheetahs although somehow are rarely spotted. After an extensive game drive, you will exit the park to Karatu for overnight.
DAY 10: KARATU – NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA
After an early breakfast you will drive for 25minutes to Ngorongoro entrances and few minutes you start descending to 600m down the crater for game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is almost 600 m deep, approximately 20 km wide and the massive caldera is home to an amazing variety of animals. On your game drive you have the possibility of seeing all different kinds of mammals ranging from the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, Rhino, and leopard – to Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. You might also see spotted hyenas, and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After a picnic lunch in the crater and some more game viewing, you will leave the crater and drive back to Arusha for overnight at arrange hotel.
DAY 11: DEPART TANZANIA
This day left for your next destination. If you have safari, then might be used to beginning your safari or fly to Zanzibar or fly back home. Our vehicle will be ready to take you to the airport at your time.
